What's your metal?

There are so many different types of metals to choose from when creating jewelry.  My metals of choice for my permanent bracelets are 14K Solid Gold, 14K gold filled and sterling silver.  Here I will discuss the benefits of each to help you make the right choice when choosing the metal for your permanent bracelet.

14K SOLID GOLD

14K Solid gold is the choice of many jewellers for its perfect balance of durability, affordability and appearance.  It will not tarnish or discolour over time.  It is an everlasting precious metal that can be worn at all times without effects on its quality.  This metal can be worn while exercising, swimming or taking a shower.  It will maintain its gold lustre for a lifetime.

14K GOLD FILLED METAL

14K GOLD FILL possesses the luxury of solid gold but without the cost.  14K gold filled jewelry is gold that is 100x times thicker than gold vermeil or gold plated jewelry. The gold is pressure bonded onto a base metal.  It will not tarnish or wear off like gold vermeil or gold plated jewelry.  Read about the benefits of gold filled jewelry HERE.  It is ideal for people with allergies or sensitive skin as well. You can swim, shower, and exercise without having to take off your gold filled permanent bracelet.

STERLING SILVER

STERLING SILVER chain is 92.5% silver with alloys that are added to it for durability.  Although sterling silver can tarnish over time, it is common to stay free of tarnish if worn on the skin and continually touched by your skin.  The oils from your body will act as a barrier to tarnish.  It however depends on the body acidity of each individual which will determine the degree of tarnishing as a result.  It is NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU SWIM IN CHLORINATED WATER (ie, swimming pools, water parks) as it will cause tarnishing.  We  will provide you with a small polish pad with your purchase of a sterling silver permanent bracelet in the case that your bracelet does tarnish under normal wear.
