Drop every fearBreast Cancer WarriorA place without judgementA place to drop every fearWords by Jayleen, former resident ofSorrentino's Compassion HouseI was honoured to be a part of Sorrentino's Compassion House Fashion with Compassion 2018 this year, creating a limited edition Bronze Layered Heart Bracelet. It was thrilling to see all of the 125 bracelets that I made were sold out last night. I have been creating a limited edition piece for the last 6 years for the organization. And each year I am inspired and touched by the personal stories that each resident brings to this event. A heartfelt note of gratitude to Mellissa Kraft, executive director, and Joanne Berger; for their support of my craft and fearless support of the cause. The Sorrentino's Compassion House is affordable housing for out of town residents who are undergoing cancer treatment at the Edmonton Cross Cancer Institute. With donor support each resident can stay for $25 a night; where the actual cost of a stay is $125 a night. Thank you so much to all of my customers and friends that came out to my May Spring Show at the The Derrick Golf & Winter Club. Over 175 people attended the show and the lucky winner of the $100 Gift Card is LeeAnn T!! Thank you to everyone on social media that shared the details of my show because word of mouth is the strongest affirmation of the work that I do.
In this picture is Debbie, Roma, Kirsten, Calla, Erin, Simone, Maddie, Catherine, Eric, & Colleen, and not in the picture is my mother Kim, and Jackie. These are my friends and family that came out to help me and help you find the perfect piece of jewelry. It is a representation of who my customers are; they are mothers, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunties, friends and family. Friends and family are everything! I loved seeing them work so well together and seeing every customer feel a little bit of joy when they found the perfect pieces. It was a fun and gratifying day. I am forever grateful that you allow me to share my love of making jewels one by one for you.
Love from me to you.

Thank you to over 220 people that attended my Orange Avocado Jewelry 2017 Christmas show. I continue to be overwhelmed with the amazing support of my little jewelry company. Thank you to these ladies and one brave guy in the picture who worked so hard to help you, all day and into the evening: Simone, Eric, Erin, Debbie, Rayna, Najat, Jackie, Kirsten, Calla and Roma. I could not have not have attended to my customers without their help.
Your support makes the 5 month preparation for my show all worth it. I am driven by a desire to create something unique for each customer; it is a work that is driven by my heart and passion to create. I have always been a maker since I can remember from the age of 4 years old.
I am also happy to say that Tanya O. was the winner of the $100 gift certificate!

Christmas ShowWednesday, November 29th, 2017Derrick Golf & Winter Club10 am to 7 pm, Banff RoomMy Christmas Show is fast approaching. I'm working on adrenalin, very little sleep and a whole lot of inspiration! I wake up each morning with plans to create truly unique pieces to be presented at this event. They are created outside of my current collections and are one of a kind. It's a great excuse for me to metal work pieces that a little more out of the ordinary and a little more colourful than my other pieces. I sift through my collection of semi-precious stones, and cut, etch and pound away at my bronze and fine silver pendants; always trying to go to places that I haven't before with my jewelry. Here are just a taste of the pieces that I will have. Come and find something truly unique for Christmas gifts and yourself! Current collections will also be at the show including a $100 Orange Avocado Jewelry Gift card draw prize, show specials, and sale items. All are welcome.

Another spring show has come and gone. While at the show a friend of mine, Michelle, commented "you must feel good about having to be able to make something and share it with everyone".
I am actually so grateful that words can't describe. I'm a little overwhelmed before, during and after each show about it all.
But I thrive on it too. It's a perfect job for me that I can't even call it a job.
It's what I do and love each day. Thank you to my friends and family that helped me out yesterday, it looked like we were going to start a race in this picture! You all worked so hard!
Thank you to everyone that came out to enjoy my new creations; with over 130 people in attendance. You bring your friends and you bring your family year after year and it's amazing to me.
And to think that it all started from a handful of beads discovered in Maui over 12 years ago.
